I found these pictures on the internet somewhere, and they are supposedly of a demolition in Iowa City last week.

There was an accident here is Nashville a few days ago, where 2 dudes were trying to find the gas main and turn it off in an old antiques building on 8th South that was shceduled for demolition in a few weeks. They were jackhammering something, and the roof fell in on them and killed one of the dudes. I happened to drive by a little later and then saw it on the news. It sucks that those guys probably didn't even hear the roof coming down on them, since there was so much jackhammering noise. It also seems kinda strange to be jackhammering in a building that is in need of demolition, but IANASE* .

The raccoon was supposedly okay and ran away. That's where Cooper would be. First he climbed a tree that one time, and now we've moved the couch into the middle of the livingroom/diningroom, acting as a sort of room divider, with the back facing the dining room, and not only does he sometimes jump over the back of the sofa instead of walking around, he actually hangs out up there, perched like a kitty. Just looking around. It is weird to round that corner from the bathroom/bedroom/office vestibule and have him be at eye level.

It makes me want to build a tree house for him and Tootie. I forgot to bring home a rabbit for their birthday dinners, so they totally deserve it.

Last night, Amy and Jack were over, and the dogs went out back with Brittney and Amy for awhile. When the dogs were let back in, Cooper was in the lead and MOVING. It cracks me up to see him running so fast, so I encouraged him and said "GET IT COOPER", which worked, and he pulled his eyelids back for extra speediness and jumped up onto the back of the couch from about 4 feet away. He was moving way too fast to stop on top, so he came down to the cushions with the front legs. He was still moving way too fast, and now downhill. I thought he was going to fall forward and catch the edge of the coffee table with his adam's apple and crush his larynx, but at the last moment he got one big push out of those front legs and leap ONTO the coffee table, then slid across, clearing a path through drinks, things made of glass and plastic and wax, and almost brittney's camera. Then he flew off the other side, got his landing gear down just in time, and landed on his effing feet. Nice trick, dummy. I was so pissed about the mess and about wasting Diet Coke, but I could not stop laughing, because it happened right in front of me.

Then today, in the car on the way to Marche (which is so bad-ass), I dropped a mostly full can of Diet Coke FOR NO REASON. Too much spilling. Too much working.
